The Seattle Chamber Players finish their 2007/2008 season with two concerts exploring contemporary Asian composers and music inspired by Chinese poetry. April 25 and 27th.
Gunther Herbig continues his two week stay by leading the Seattle Symphony in a performance of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto and Sibelius’ Symphony No.1. Rick Steves would be proud, because this concert is truly Europe through the back door. April 26, 2008.
With the help of five local choirs, Francis Poulenc’s Gloria will be performed at Benaroya Hall. Each Choir will also be performing works special to each ensemble. April 27, 2008.
Monday, Leif Ove Andsnes concludes the President’s Piano Series at Meany Hall on the University of Washington Campus. The pianist’s Mozart Piano Concertos on EMI and his Schubert Piano Sonata recordings have been receiving praise as both sensitive and perceptive. Like Anttti Siirala earlier in the series, Andsnes will be performing four pieces by Sibelius. Selections from Debussy’s Preludes are also on the program. April 28, 2008.
