The Gathering Note

When I came to Washington State, driving through Montana was the highlight of the trip.  In my mind, Montana is the most beautiful state of the continental 48.  Even better, courtesy of Alex Ross, the Helena Symphony, an orchestra with an annual budget of $600,000, is in the midst of a beautiful project.  What’s the project?  Well, no less than a Mahler symphony cycle.
